GASP: Code of Conduct

(Click here to return to the GASP homepage.)

Please carefully read this page in its entirety before purchasing a ticket to GASP.

Here is the official GASP Code of Conduct. Violators will be subject to our Incident Reporting and Resolution Policy, and may be asked to leave. If this happens, ticket and hotel fees will not be refunded.

  1. Consent is mandatory. If both people do not consent to everything happening in the scene, it should not happen.
    • Some people have pre-negotiated consensual non-consent. This is permissible, but not recommended.
    • If you see someone that you think is violating consent / has had their consent violated, speak to a member of the security or leadership team immediately. Do not interfere in what is happening.
    • Bratting does not equal consent to play. However, bratting does indicate consent to discuss playing.
  2. Discrimination and/or harassment of any sort is not permitted. This includes race, sex, orientation, religion, preference, age, appearance, or pretty much anything else. GASP is an all-inclusive event, as long as you are a respectful individual who is either:
    • A human being age 21 and older
    • An alien visitor from another planet who has reached the age of majority
  3. Related to #2:
    • Respect all individuals’ choice of name and pronoun. It’s okay to make a mistake, but if someone tells you how to refer to them, you should refer to them that way.
    • Repeatedly asking someone to play after they have said no counts as harassment. (If you don’t want to play with someone, it’s always better to say no instead of maybe.)
    • If an individual is accompanied by a service animal, do not touch the service animal without permission from its handler.
    • Don’t out anyone. If you know someone’s real name, but that is not the name on their badge, use the name on their badge unless they have specifically indicated you are allowed to use a different name.
  4. The universal safeword in any scene is red. However, if you wish to negotiate your own safewords on a scene-by-scene basis you are welcome to do so. That said, if someone is yelling “Red! Red! Red!” and you aren’t stopping, security and leadership will step in.
  5. Party areas are for registered attendees only. You must wear your badge at all times. Guests who do not have badges are not permitted.
    • If you are doing a scene, you may remove your badge, but keep it nearby in case you are asked to show it.
    • At the vendor fair only, a wristband may be used instead of a badge to indicate you are an approved attendee.
  6. Explicit sexual contact is not permitted in party areas, except for the dungeon. (See below for dungeon rules and regulations.)
  7. Nudity:
    • Full nudity is permitted (but not recommended) while doing scenes in the hospitality suites, but if you’re not doing a scene, please do not be nude.
    • If you’re going to put your naked buttocks or naked front of your body on any of the hotel furniture, put down a towel or sheet first.
  8. Do not touch anyone’s implements without permission.
  9. Do not touch people without permission.
    • When in doubt, ask before hugging.
  10. Except for hotel-approved bars, alcohol is not furnished by GASP. It should not be consumed in any party areas where there is no bar present (such as the hospitality suites or the dungeon).
  11. Do not play under the influence of any mind-altering substances, legal or otherwise. If you are suspected of doing so, security or leadership will step in and assess the situation.
  12. Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted inside the hotel. There is a designated smoking area outside the hotel you may use. If you get us kicked out of the hotel because you were smoking or vaping indoors, you will be disallowed from attending all future GASP events. This includes if it was in the privacy of your hotel room.
  13. Do not engage in behavior that might damage hotel property. To that end, the hotel prohibits use of glitter and confetti under any and all circumstances.
  14. Hotel conduct guidelines:
    • While the hotel staff has an idea of what’s going on, do not initiate discussions of anything kink-related with the staff. If asked, you are here for an “adult lifestyle convention”.
    • Do not discuss anything kink-related with non-attending hotel guests. Unfortunately, this includes wearing anything that is explicitly kink-related, including funny t-shirts that reference kink. Sorry.
    • Nudity in public hotel areas is not allowed. (It is, however, allowed in play areas.)
    • Public play is only allowed in party areas (hospitality suite, dungeon, official party events). It is not allowed anywhere else. This means there is to be no spanking whatsoever done in the public areas of the hotel, which include (but are not limited to) the bar, lobby, pool/hot tub, hallways, elevators, restaurant, or business center. No, not even a couple of swats. No, not even if no one else is around. Just don’t do it.
  15. Firearms of any type, including stun guns, are not permitted, regardless of state and local regulations. Knives are permitted as long as they can be concealed in one’s pocket.
  16. Photography policy:
    • When in doubt, don’t take a photo.
    • All individuals in any photo must explicitly consent to being in said photo. This includes anyone who may be in the background.
    • We all love taking photos of the results of spankings. It is recommended you do this in a hotel room, not in the party areas.
  17. If you observe someone breaking any of these rules, please contact leadership immediately via Fetlife or Discord. Leaders include: Listener/Listener42, NotSoKnotty, GreyBeard67, The-Great-Catsby, Silverkettle, _Shannon_, AssaultedPeanut, and StormyGin. If this occurs in the dungeon play space, seek out a DM if possible.

Dungeon Rules and Regulations:

  1. DMs (dungeon monitors), dungeon staff, and party organizers have the final say on any scene occurring inside the dungeon. If they believe a scene should be ended (or not started), it must be ended (or not started), without exception. DMs, dungeon staff, and party organizers are there for your protection, as well as the protection of others.
  2. Touching of the breasts, anus, and genital areas is permitted, as long as consent is provided. Toys or hands may be used. Use protection (gloves, condoms), and clean up after yourself.
  3. No oral, anal, or penis-in-vagina sex is permitted. This includes strap-ons.
  4. The following forms of play are prohibited in the dungeon at GASP:
    • Wax play
    • Fire play
    • Cupping of any sort
    • Breath play
    • Knife play
    • Blood play (including the intentional drawing of blood using spanking implements)
      • We understand that sometimes blood is drawn by accident. If this happens, immediately stop play and call a DM if necessary. Do not leave the area until first aid is applied.
    • Bodily fluid/substance play (semen, ejaculate, urine, feces, vomit)
      • We understand that orgasms happen and are messy at times. Please do your best to clean up after yourself.
  5. Gag policy:
    • If you are going to use a gag, make sure to agree on a non-verbal safeword.
    • Remember, there may be loud noises or music in the dungeon play space, so it needs to be pretty obvious.
    • If you are going to use a gag, talk to a DM before you start the scene so that we are aware of what’s going on.
  6. Suspension policy:
    • The dungeon play space will have one hard point that can be used for suspension. That is the only place suspensions may be done.
    • Do not use hotel luggage carts for suspension scenes.
    • If you have your own portable suspension rig and want to bring it with you, show it to a DM before you use it and work with the DM to find adequate space in the dungeon.
  7. Nudity is permitted in the dungeon, but please do not sit on the hotel’s chairs with your bare backside. Bring a towel or sheet from your room.
  8. Please keep in mind that, while GASP does offer a dungeon play space, different people are comfortable with different levels of non-spanking play. To that end:
    • If you see something in the dungeon that you’re not comfortable with, feel free to ask a DM if it’s okay for that to be happening.
    • If you’re not comfortable, please don’t hesitate to leave the dungeon play space. The last thing we want is for you to feel forced to watch something that makes you uncomfortable.
    • If you’re a more “advanced” player, or you tend to play very hard, please keep in mind that others around you might not be comfortable with this. Scenes you might normally do at your local dungeon may be too intense for party attendees. Use your best judgment, and remember that DMs, dungeon staff, or party organizers may request that you stop your scene. If that happens, stop your scene.
  9. No implements longer than three feet may be used. Sorry, whip enthusiasts.
  10. Give scenes adequate space. If you get hit by someone else’s implement, you were standing too close to the scene.
  11. Don’t talk to people while they’re actively doing a scene — not the top, not the bottom.
  12. Feel free to have conversations in the dungeon play space, but keep it to a dull roar. You wouldn’t want people’s conversations messing with your headspace, so don’t let your conversations mess with theirs.
  13. Be aware that others may be waiting to use play areas. If there is a wait, please limit your scene to 45 minutes (including clean-up time).
  14. When your scene is done, clean up after yourself. Use cleaning wipes to wipe down the equipment you used, and place any used linens in the appropriate location.
  15. No food in the active play areas of the dungeon. If you absolutely have to have a snack, do so in one of the chairs around the perimeter. Also, the only drink in the dungeon should be water.
  16. You must be fully street-legal when you leave the dungeon. Wrapping yourself in a blanket is not enough — you have to put your clothes back on.
  17. No photos in the dungeon at any time whatsoever, unless you go to a DM first and have the DM clear out the area so no one else is present who hasn’t consented.

Official Hotel Code of Conduct

All attendees will be required to sign the hotel’s code of conduct document, which is reproduced below.

We are pleased to have been selected as the hotel for this weekend’s event. Most Attendees understand the need for responsible behavior while staying in a hotel. Therefore, for the comfort and safety of all of our guests, we have instituted the following policies:

  1. The guest signing for each room(s) will be the person responsible for that room’s actions. Only registered guests are allowed in at any time.
  2. Please note that you will be responsible for any damages caused to the rooms and/or public spaces. The use of recreational drugs is strictly prohibited. Additionally, smoking is not allowed in the hotel and a $250 fine will be automatically charged to your room for any violations.
  3. Proper dress is required in all common areas of the hotel.
  4. The hotel quiet time is from 10:00PM – 08:00AM Please reduce sound levels and refrain from congregating in the halls, lobby and walkways. Please remember we have other guests in the hotel that are not part of your group.
  5. Loud, obscene, or boisterous behavior will not be tolerated and will result in only one warning.
  6. Photography is not allowed unless expressed consent is given at the time from everyone in the picture (including those in the background). Hotel staff may not be photographed.
  7. You cannot bring your own alcoholic beverages to the hotel’s public spaces. Alpharetta Liquor Law only allows alcohol that is sold and served by the Hotel on Hotel grounds and in public areas including the bar, lobby, outside entrance, meeting space and pool area. Beer and Wine are available for sale in the Market Place as well as our full bar 19 North.
  8. When departing or returning to the hotel, please do so in a quiet and mannerly fashion.
  9. Please keep your rooms as orderly as possible. If you order food to be delivered from outside of the hotel, please dispose of the leftovers properly.
  10. Sexual conduct is not permitted in the public spaces of the hotel, including hallways, elevators, lobby, outdoor spaces, and/or bar.
  11. To access complimentary Wi-Fi in your guestroom, please select the free option; then the system will ask for your last name and room number. The last name must match the last name on the guest room reservation.
  12. The televisions in your guestroom offer access to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. You will need to login with your personal account information. While in your room, please keep the television and radio volume at a moderate level. Also, please remember that talking voices carry through the walls – please keep conversations at a moderate level.
  13. The Pool is open daily from 7am – 11pm. The Market Place, Fitness Center, and Business Center are 24-hours for your added convenience. Proper dress is required in all common areas of the hotel.

We know that the vast majority of our guests realize that these rules are for everyone’s benefit, including their own. However, in the event that any person(s) or registered guests are found NOT in compliance with any of the above rules, they will be subject to immediate eviction from the hotel by management or security, without refund (and will be charged for the full length of the reservation). In addition, we will report the eviction to the Host Organization of this event.
