Here is the official GASP COVID and Illness policy, updated as of May 2025. Violators will be asked to leave, and tickets/hotel room fees will not be refunded.
Complaining about the COVID and Illness Policy will not cause us to change it. We get that some people don’t like it, and that’s okay with us. If you want to attend the party, you have to abide by it.
- If you’re sick, don’t attend. Simple as that.
- If a medical issue occurs before March 1 that will prevent you from attending the party, you may request a refund of your ticket less a 25% handling fee. You may alternately defer your ticket to next year or transfer your ticket to someone else.
- If a medical issue occurs after March 1 that will prevent you from attending the party (including COVID), you may request a deferral of your ticket to next year. However, refunds of any type will not be given after March 1.
- All attendees must take a COVID test the day they arrive at the party, and show a photograph of it next to something indicating the current date, such as a phone, a watch, a newspaper, or a television. See example below.
- Bringing your negative test to registration does not meet this guideline. We have no desire to touch your test, even if it’s negative. It has your boogers on it.
- If you are attending only the vendor fair, you don’t have to show a test before entering, but we still encourage you to take one and not attend if you are positive.
- If you do not have a photo that meets the guideline in #2, you will be asked to take a COVID test in the presence of the registration team. There is a drugstore nearby where they can be purchased. The registration team will not have tests available.
- COVID vaccinations are preferred but not required.
- If you have had COVID or another communicable disease within five days of your arrival at the party, do not attend. If you provide a positive COVID test or doctor’s note, your ticket can be deferred to next year. (Unfortunately we do not control refunds for hotel reservations; you will have to talk to the hotel about that directly, if necessary. Also, it is recommended that you purchase refundable/transferrable airfare, or travel insurance.)
- Masks are not required at the party. However, if someone chooses to wear a mask, that is their choice. Do not harass them about it. (If you are a mask-wearer and you are harassed, speak to a member of the security or leadership team.)
- After the party, if you test positive for COVID within five days, please post a message in the Discord letting everyone know so they can test themselves as well.

The above image is an example of what we would like to see at registration.
TO RECAP: Don’t come if you’re sick. Show us a picture of a negative test taken within the past 24 hours. We won’t have tests, so make sure to pick one up before you come. And don’t complain about the policy. We really don’t want to hear it.
